Segmenting, joining and installing long racks
Long-travel accuracy depends on each segment as well as joints, mounting faces, location strategy and field measurement.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Technical explanation
Long axes are commonly built from standard rack segments; end pitch, hole pattern, datum and joining-tool clearance must be coordinated early.
Mounting-face straightness and flatness transfer into the rack, while joint pitch transition and height mismatch must be controlled to avoid pinion shock.
Use numbered matching, install outward from a datum segment and verify with a setting pinion or joining gauge, measurement and final running checks.
Project factors
Match-mark + datum-out installation
