Rack induction hardening: hardness, depth and distortion
Heat treatment is not a hardness number alone; case depth, core toughness and long-part distortion also matter.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Technical explanation
Induction hardening locally increases wear resistance; the process window depends on material, module, section and scan speed.
Long racks are sensitive to temperature gradients and asymmetric sections, so process control, straightening allowance and finishing must work together.
Specify material, target hardness, effective case depth, allowable distortion and inspection locations, not surface hardness alone.
Project factors
Pre-machine → harden → straighten → finish
